Bosch to show liquid and solid pharma developments at ACHEMA 2012

Published: 27-Apr-2012

All-in-one solution for the production of solid pharmaceuticals is available for small batch sizes and laboratory usage as well as for large batch production environments

Bosch Packaging Technology will highlight the sale of its 100th isolator, which will be showcased with an FLC filling machine for injection vials and infusion bottles. Once installed at the international pharmaceutical customer’s site, it will be used in combination with a vial filling and sealing line, ensuring a sterile filling process for highly potent APIs.

In addition, Bosch will introduce the Fast Air Lock ISS 1000 for the transfer of pharmaceutical equipment into and out of isolators. An efficient evaporation process and an optimised loading unit give fast cycle times of approximately 20 minutes. The ISS 1000 is available as an integrated or standalone module and operates independently from the main filling isolator.

Manual, semi and fully automated inspection equipment from recently acquired Eisai Machinery will be on show, including the new ETAC Easy View, a visual inspection device for particle and cosmetic inspection of very small batches.

Two fully automated high-end machines will also be on show: the EIS A206S for particle and cosmetic inspection of pre-filled syringes, and the AIM C203A for particle and cosmetic inspection of ampoules, vials and cartridges.

A further novelty is the Bosch KKX 3900 for 100% checkweighing and quality control by visual inspection. The system inspects process quality parameters such as weight, length and capsule condition with high accuracy and detects all kinds of foreign particles, including metal.

The firm says this modular unit is compatible with any capsule filling machine, is resistant to environmental influences such as vibration, airflow and humidity, and has an output of up to 220,000 capsules an hour in production.

Bosch will also showcase an entire pharmaceutical solid process chain, covering all steps from mixing, granulating and coating to tablet pressing and filling of capsules. This all-in-one solution for the production of solid pharmaceuticals is available for small batch sizes and laboratory usage as well as for large batch production environments.
