Dow Microbial Control upgrades Swiss facility
World class R&D and testing facility launches in Europe
Dow Microbial Control, a business group of Dow Chemical, has opened a state-of-the-art testing facility in Buchs, Switzerland, comprising a customer application centre (CAC) and R&D centre of excellence.
Dow says the Buchs facility has undergone a series of upgrades that build on the existing formulation capabilities available from the Rohm and Haas acquisition, which it says make it the premiere microbiology laboratory in Europe. The facility’s capabilities include Taunovate technology, said to enable customers to test for a wide spectrum of aerobic and anaerobic bacteria, providing information required for the creation of eco-label compliant and sustainable solutions.
“Dow Microbial Control continues to deliver on our commitment to providing customers access to global leadership and resources at the local level,” says Mark Henning, general manager, Dow Microbial Control. “Our facility in Buchs guarantees our customers will have local access to the best microbial control solutions available on the market.”
Dow Microbial Control was formed as a combination of Dow Biocides and Rohm and Haas Advanced Materials following Dow’s 2009 acquisition of Rohm & Haas.
