Norwood, the specialist in design, manufacture and installation of demountable cleanroom partitions, has achieved a 300% increase in turnover over the past five years. Its rapid growth follows a wide-ranging investment programme, a quadrupling of the team and success in winning bigger, more prestigious projects.
Based in Stockport, Norwood specialises in precision engineered and bespoke partitions, ceilings, doors and accessories for pharmaceutical, biosciences, advanced manufacturing and healthcare environments.
Its success in achieving a £2.6 million turnover for the past financial year follows a management buy-out and turnaround programme in 2016, which has seen the company focus on its core strength of providing solutions tailored to its clients' individual needs.
Managing Director of Norwood, Josh Bannister, explained: "Ours has always been a high quality solution, designed and manufactured in-house and installed by our own teams, ensuring that our clients receive complete accountability throughout the project journey."

Recent projects for Norwood include the Ray Dolby Centre delivered by Bouygues UK at the University of Cambridge's Department of Physics, AstraZeneca's Global Packaging Centre and the Vaccines Manufacturing & Innovation Centre (VMIC) in Oxford, delivered by BES and IQE's semiconductor facility delivered by CMB Engineering. The company is now redeveloping its manufacturing facilities to prepare for increased growth, and is investing in both people and equipment, most recently with delivery of a new steel folding machine from France.
Bannister continued: "Over the past five years, we have transitioned from serving smaller, local projects to designing and engineering systems for £multi-million developments of national and international significance. We are reinvesting in the business to maintain high service and quality standards and growing our talented team, with recruitment currently underway for three new site roles and plans to recruit new trainees over the next two years as we target a £5 million turnover."
Having continued to deliver sustained growth during the pandemic, thanks to the company's involvement in critical sectors, Norwood now has a secure order book for the next two years and expects to add a further two million to its annual turnover by 2023 and has recently launched a new website.
"What we do is extremely specialist and offering a service that includes developing the brief to ensure the design, specification, manufacture and installation are consistently accurate is helping to set us apart," Bannister said.
