Vaisala appoints Anne Jalkala as Chief Strategy Officer

Anne Jalkala has been appointed as Vaisala’s Chief Strategy Officer (CSO). She will start in her position on August 15, 2022, and she will report to President and CEO Kai Öistämö

Anne Jalkala joins Vaisala from Fortum where she has held the position as Vice President, Digital Growth Businesses. Prior to that that she has worked at Fortum as Vice President, Innovation and Venturing, Vice President, Strategy and Ventures, and Vice President, Startup and Fund Investments.

Jalkala also has an extensive experience in the academic world. Before Fortum, she led the LUT School of Business and Management and worked as Professor in Business Marketing at Lappeenranta University of Technology. Her background also covers a position of a Visiting Scholar at Stanford University. She holds a doctoral degree in Industrial Engineering and Management from Lappeenranta University of Technology.
