Residue-free bio-decontamination

Published: 12-Jan-2005

Bioquell UK has developed the Clarus range of bio-decontamination technology, designed to generate hydrogen peroxide vapour used for the surface bio-deactivation of micro-organisms, viruses and fungi.

The residue-free nature of the technology is achieved by the catalytic conversion of hydrogen peroxide to water and oxygen at the end of the bio-decontamination process. Clarus technology can operate at negative pressure when applied to sealed enclosures, which ensures zero leakage throughout the decontamination process to protect the operatives and surrounding environment. Assisting in the effective circulation of the hydrogen peroxide vapour are specially sealed Multi-Stage blowers from Air Control Industries, of Chard. These use contamination and maintenance-free brushless motors, which is essential for operation in hygiene sensitive environments. The motors also offer high efficiency and low noise operation.
