Sealed Air launches multi-layer film for multi-chamber medical packs

Sealed Air Medical Applications, the supplier of protective medical and pharmaceutical packaging and thermoformed products, has introduced Nexcel M331, a multilayer film specially designed for multi-chamber applications where a frangible seal is needed to allow the components to mix before being administered.


The film will withstand full steam sterilisation and transportation without the seals breaking, but it is engineered so that remains easy to burst the frangible seal and mix the contents in the hospital environment. As with all Nexcel pharmaceutical films it is fully compliant with USP, EP and JP standards and is FDA DMF registered. In addition Sealed Air offers the Nexcel M27 thermoformable film, which is said to offer excellent processing and seal properties.

For the rigid packaging business, Sealed Air Nelipak offers cleanroom manufactured custom designed PETG trays and Tyvek lids, together with Nelipak heat-sealing machines. In addition, the company has introduced MEDI-Clear, a new development in multi-dose compliance packaging for pharmacies and care homes.
