Two industry experts join UV Flu Technologies
UV Flu Technologies, a US developer of biotechnology products initially targeting the indoor air quality industry sector, has appointed Dennis Rosen and Roger Nelsen to its board of directors.
Rosen is a developmental paediatrician teaching at UMASS Medical Centre in Worcester, MA and in private practice in Amherst, MA. He has been the director of developmental clinics in multiple community hospitals in Western Massachusetts since his training at the State University of New York at Buffalo. Nelsen brings more than 36 years’ experience in the medical equipment and health care sector to the company. Since 1996 he has been senior vice president of Eco-Rx, an air purification specialist. He began his career in the sector in 1973 at several divisions of Johnson & Johnson.
UV Flu Technologies manufactures the UV 400 Viraguard, which uses germicidal ultraviolet radiation (UV-C) inside a killing chamber to trap and destroy harmful microbes including Influenza A and H1N1 at rates claimed to exceed 99.2% on a first-pass basis. The FDA has issued a Class II medical listing that enables the company to market the product as a medical device.
