AECOM has been awarded a 10‑year Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) to provide environmental support services across all NASA centres in the US.
“We are proud to partner with NASA on this first-of-its-kind enterprise environmental services contract,” said Frank Sweet, Chief Executive of AECOM’s Environment business.
Headquartered in Dallas, Texas, AECOM is an infrastructure consulting firm that offers services spanning cities, transportation, buildings, water, new energy, and environmental projects.
Under the agreement, AECOM will deliver services including regulatory compliance review, environmental audits and inspections, technical support, and programme management to support NASA’s environmental operations.
The contract covers multiple areas, such as air emissions, drinking water, stormwater, wastewater, natural resource management, energy management, and environmental restoration.
NASA centres operate highly controlled environments, including cleanrooms used for spacecraft assembly, testing, and planetary protection, which require rigorous environmental oversight.
These facilities are among the most energy-intensive building types than standard buildings (often 10×–100×), with strict air quality, temperature, and humidity controls driving significant power and water demand.
NASA can issue task orders under the BPA for specific projects as needed.
For decades, AECOM has supported NASA through environmental and energy programs at individual centres.
The company has provided technical services, regulatory guidance, and compliance support across NASA facilities.
The BPA is intended to streamline NASA’s access to environmental expertise, allowing the agency to address regulatory requirements and programme management needs more efficiently across all centres.
