The designer and manufacturer of modular cleanrooms has expanded into the Southeast US with new RTP hub

AES Cleanroom Technology has expanded its US footprint with a new office in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina.

The new expansion is targeting the fast-growing life sciences and biotech sectors in the Southeast of the US.

“The Research Triangle Park represents one of the most dynamic life sciences ecosystems in the country, and we’re excited to strengthen our presence in this thriving market,” said Chris Miller, CEO of AES Cleanroom Technology.

The office will act as a regional hub for AES’s modular cleanroom solutions, allowing the company to work more closely with clients during design, installation and commissioning.

The local presence will improve response times and project coordination in the Southeast, which is emerging as a hotspot for biotech investment.

AES’s expansion reflects both market growth and the increasing demand for rapid, high-quality controlled environment facilities.

“Our expansion allows us to bring our full-spectrum capabilities, from initial design through manufacturing and construction, directly to the innovators shaping the future of life sciences,” said Miller.

Miller was appointed CEO of AES in 2024.

Under Miller’s leadership, AES has articulated a clear ambition to dominate not just biopharma cleanrooms but also advanced manufacturing environments such as semiconductors, battery production and AI infrastructure.

In Miller’s vision of the future, modularisation and off‑site construction are more than just cost‑drivers: they’re central to the future of cleanroom delivery.

AES is also looking to elevate field execution, tighten integration with design and factory teams and position installation as part of the innovation chain rather than an afterthought.

Reinforcing this, AES recently completed an intensive training programme for its installation teams, covering topics from PFAS handling and confined‑space operations to advanced digital tools like Procore.

On the product side, AES has introduced the “Omni ASCENT” vertical utility solution, an off‐site manufactured (OSM) modular framework that frees utilities from walls and ceilings and instead positions them on the cleanroom floor.

The approach provides improved space utilisation, better access and faster deployment.
