Arterex opens 836 sqm ISO Class 8 cleanroom at medical device manufacturing facility

The new cleanroom at the company's Tecate site in Baja California will support medical device moulding, extrusion and assembly operations

Arterex has opened a new 836 sqm ISO Class 8 cleanroom at its medical device manufacturing facility in Tecate, Baja California, Mexico.

The 9,000 sqft medical device manufacturing facility has been designed to support moulding, extrusion and medical device assembly operations, expanding the company's manufacturing capacity and providing additional space for production in a controlled environment.

The expansion was prompted by growing customer demand, according to Arterex, which said the new cleanroom would support the manufacture of high-precision medical devices while maintaining contamination control and product quality.

The additional ISO Class 8 cleanroom capacity will enable Arterex Tecate to support more complex and higher-volume manufacturing programmes, bringing engineering, production and assembly operations together within a controlled environment.

The expansion forms part of Arterex's wider manufacturing operations across the medical device and life sciences sectors.

The company operates manufacturing facilities across the United States, Mexico, Italy, Ireland, Egypt and India, providing services including product design and development, engineering, compounding, extrusion, injection moulding, tooling, metal processing and advanced assembly.

Arterex employs more than 2,300 people globally and was formed through the combination of several medical device manufacturing businesses, including Kabo, Formula Plastics, Luc & Bel, ModenPlast, NextPhase, Micromold, Phoenix, Adroit USA, Xponent Global, Synecco and Eurostamp.

“The addition of this ISO Class 8 cleanroom allows us to better serve our customers’ evolving needs in the medical device sector, where precision, cleanliness, and reliability are critical,” said Bill Gerard, President North America of Arterex.
