Fabtech Cleanrooms expands into HVAC production and semiconductor engineering

The India-based manufacturer is broadening its cleanroom design and build capabilities through partnerships covering air handling, HVAC integration and specialist facility engineering

Fabtech Cleanrooms is expanding its cleanroom offering to include HVAC integration, air handling unit (AHU) manufacturing and semiconductor facility engineering through investments in three specialist businesses.

In August, the company changed its name from Fabtech Technologies Cleanroom Systems to Fabtech Cleanrooms.

According to its latest investor presentation, Fabtech Cleanrooms holds a 60.53% stake in Kelvin, which provides HVAC integration; a 34.99% stake in AHU manufacturer Advantek; and a 28% associate stake in AAR-T, which specialises in semiconductor and solar facility engineering.

In April 2025, the company already had a 51% stake in Kelvin, which has now risen 9.53%.

The move builds on the Indian company's existing manufacture of modular cleanroom panels, doors and ceiling systems, extending its capabilities into the environmental control systems and specialist engineering needed to deliver complete controlled environments.

The three businesses remain separate companies rather than operating divisions of Fabtech Cleanrooms.

Their capabilities complement FabTech’s existing cleanroom manufacturing and installation services, bringing HVAC integration, air handling and specialist facility engineering into its wider offering.

Expanding cleanroom capabilities

Fabtech Cleanrooms manufactures modular polyurethane foam (PUF) and rockwool wall and ceiling panels, alongside doors, view panels, return-air risers and T-grid ceiling systems.

Kelvin adds HVAC design and integration, supporting temperature, humidity and pressure control in critical environments such as pharmaceutical facilities and data centres.

Advantek provides AHU manufacturing and additional partition production capacity, while AAR-T brings specialist engineering experience in semiconductor and solar manufacturing facilities, with projects across the USA, Europe, Singapore, Israel and the Middle East.

Together, the businesses extend Fabtech Cleanrooms' offering across cleanroom design, component manufacturing, air handling, mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) services, installation and validation.

Fabtech Cleanrooms had already strengthened its HVAC capabilities through an increased stake in air handling manufacturer Advantek in February , alongside its international expansion through the establishment of a UAE subsidiary, extending its manufacturing and supply operations beyond India.

Fabtech Cleanrooms is also distinct from Fabtech Technologies Limited, a separate company within the wider Fabtech business landscape focused on international turnkey life sciences and infrastructure projects.

Fabtech Cleanrooms specialises in cleanroom systems and controlled-environment infrastructure, primarily in India.

Hyderabad manufacturing expansion

Alongside its expanded engineering capabilities, Fabtech Cleanrooms is developing its manufacturing footprint in Hyderabad, complementing its existing facility in Umbergaon, Gujarat.

The company reports a combined manufacturing area of 150,000 sqft across the two sites, including 50,000 sqft of built-up manufacturing space at its Hyderabad facility near Genome Valley.

The site includes dedicated PUF and rockwool panel production lines, alongside automated cutting, bending, roll-forming and coating equipment.

Fabtech Cleanrooms said the additional capacity will bring production closer to pharmaceutical, electronics and semiconductor manufacturing clusters in southern India.

Its target markets include pharmaceutical and biotechnology manufacturing, healthcare, data centres, solar, semiconductors and electronics.

The company has previously delivered projects including Sri Lanka's first ISO Class 7 government cleanroom and a turnkey cleanroom project for a veterinary manufacturing facility in Algeria.
