Anachem introduces disinfectant tablets

Virkon, a high-level disinfectant, is now available in a tablet formulation from Anachem.

It provides infection control for all laboratory surfaces, equipment and instruments. Each tablet dissolved in 500ml of water provides a 1% working solution that is ready to use in minutes, the company says. This non-toxic, non-sensitising chemical disinfectant kills 99.999% of organisms in less than 10 minutes, and in tests by leading UK laboratories has been proven effective against drug-resistant (and non-resistant) Staphylococcus aureus, as well as environmentally transmitted and blood-borne viruses. All forms are soluble in tap water to form a solution effective for up to five days, or as indicated by the colour of the solution, which fades when nearing its use-life limit.
