BSI conference keeps abreast of latest developments in legislation and standards
Compliance with updated EU and UK regulations on contamination control should be at the top of every cleanroom manager’s agenda.
BSI British Standards is running a one-day conference on Cleanroom Contamination Control that will explore the latest developments in legislation and standards, as well as looking at cost effective solutions to controlling contamination.
In particular, the conference includes the latest information on the forthcoming changes to the BS EN ISO 14644 and BS EN ISO 14698 series and the impact of the revision of Annex 1 of the EU GMP.
The conference is applicable to all those who manage or supply cleanrooms and controlled environments in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries, NHS and hospital trusts including operating theatres, laboratories, manufacturing areas.
As well as providing an explanation of the changes to regulations and development in standards, the conference will cover the application of the latest best practice in contamination control, design and construction and risk management. It will also provide a forum for networking with peers, sharing problems and solutions.
Speakers will include Gordon Farquharson, principal consultant at Bovis Lend Lease and chair of the BSI committee on Cleanroom Technology, who will give an update on regulations, legislation and UK and international standards.
Tim Eaton, sterile manufacturing specialist at AstraZeneca, will speak on the risk management of contamination during cleanroom manufacturing.
The conference is followed by an optional one-day workshop at which delegates will be able to choose between:
- BS EN ISO 14644-7: working with separative devices/isolators – installation, testing and approval for hospitals; and
- BS ISO 21501: new standards for particle counters for cleanrooms and for testing injections and infusions.
