Cable tie to reduce product contamination in food, beverage and pharmaceutical manufacturing

Published: 7-Sep-2007

Panduit, a global supplier of cabling solutions for electrical and network connectivity applications, has launched of Pan-Ty metal detectable cable ties.

According to the company, the cable ties are a suitable choice for bundling and fastening applications in manufacturing areas where products are at risk of external contamination.

Alan Farrimond, managing director of Panduit EMEA, said: “Simple innovations can sometimes make all the difference in enhancing manufacturing processes and efficiency. The colour of the cable ties makes them easier to spot if they are dropped in production areas. Additionally, whereas standard cable ties are made solely of plastic, this product contains traces of metal. If a visual search fails to locate the missing cable tie, a scan with standard metal detection equipment will quickly succeed."

The metal impregnated material has met industry standard testing by leading manufacturers of metal detectors and x-ray inspection equipment. The cable ties help meet HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point) preventative controls. The blue colour offers distinct contrast for easy visual identification of tie on conveyor belts and in products. The product is specifically designed to meet food, beverage and pharmaceutical safety standards.

All the features of the popular Pan-Ty Cable Tie line are incorporated, including one-piece design with locking wedge, curved and tapered tip, and smooth round edges for easy, reliable installation.
