New multi-cartridge Advanta stainless steel filter housings for biopharmaceutical applications from Pall Corporation are claimed to be among the first in the industry to meet ASME standards for a fully drainable design. In addition, each housing is provided with complete documentation to support rapid process validation. The new filter housings are also designed and built as pressure vessels meeting ASME code standard Section VIII, Div. 1. The new multi-round Advanta filter cartridge housings are developed for large-scale liquid filtration where multiple numbers of cartridges are used. There are no removable tube sheets in these housings, therefore enabling Clean-in-Place operation. The housing design is flexible, providing various inlet and outlet options and vent and drain configurations. Advanta housings are designed specially for the biopharmaceutical industry. The number of welds is minimised to reduce chances of residual deposit. Complete conformance documentation and material certificates are provided for each new multi-round Advanta housing to support requirements for validation and documentation. In addition, Pall's validation services are available worldwide to address both filter and system validation concerns.
