Cleanova acquires Airflotek and TES-Clean Air Systems in US push

The industrial filtration specialist has acquired two US-based HEPA filter companies to gain entry into the market for ultra-clean, controlled environments for AI-driven semiconductor manufacturing

Cleanova, the global industrial filtration specialist, has acquired US-based companies Airflotek and TES-Clean Air Systems to strengthen its market presence for ultra-clean controlled environment filtration.

The company is backed by London-based private equity firm PX3 Partners.

“[This] extends our capabilities into semiconductor manufacturing, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, and other highly regulated industries where ultra-clean air quality is essential,” said Chris Cummins, CEO of Cleanova.

The acquisitions extend Cleanova’s offering to markets where contamination control isn’t optional, but a regulatory and operational imperative.

This includes AI-related semiconductor fabrication, aseptic pharmaceutical production, and advanced biotech environments.

Airflotek, founded in 1993, is a specialist in engineered cleanroom air filtration systems, including HEPA and ULPA fan filter units (FFUs) and controlled environment solutions tailored to stringent particle control requirements.

TES-Clean Air Systems, the exclusive distributor of Airflotek products with deep application expertise, brings decades of field experience and global customer relationships.

Cleanova’s other strategic acquisitions

The integration of Airflotek and TES-Clean represents Cleanova’s fifth and sixth acquisitions since 2023.

The move follows earlier bolt-ons, including Micronics Engineered Filtration Group in 2025, which created a more than $1.3bn independent filtration platform with broadened global reach and diversified technology capabilities.

Cleanova’s acquisition strategy reflects PX3’s buy-and-build model, focusing on high-growth industrial segments with recurring aftermarket potential, global customer networks and sustainable value creation.

Cleanova has a combined workforce of 1,600 employees and is positioning itself as a comprehensive independent industrial and ultra-clean filtration platform.

The platform is capable of serving both traditional heavy-industry applications and the fastest-growing controlled environment segments.

The company will continue to focus on sectors where air quality directly impacts product yields, regulatory approval and operational uptime, particularly in semiconductor fabs and biotech cleanrooms.
