Connect 2 Cleanrooms has hosted a supplier open day at its Lancaster facility to help cleanroom users respond to the growing complexity of contamination control, compliance, and day-to-day cleanroom management. Held on Wednesday 13 May, the event brought together customers, suppliers, and technical specialists for hands-on workshops covering contamination control, operator best practice, and maintaining compliance in controlled environments.

Workshops covered three core areas of cleanroom management:

  • Controlling Contamination looked at first-line contamination control solutions, predesigned cleanrooms, and particle counting.
  • Operator Best Practices focused on personnel comfort, cleanroom seating, gowning, hand hygiene, and glove use.
  • Maintaining Compliance covered wipe selection, cleaning chemicals, and surface cleaning techniques for controlled environments.

The open day was supported by a number of Connect 2 Cleanrooms’ trusted suppliers, including DuPont Personal Protection, Purus International, Ecolab, FG Clean Wipes and Ansell. Each supplier brought specialist knowledge to the workshops, giving attendees the chance to ask questions, handle products, and discuss practical requirements linked to their own controlled facilities.

Nicola Coull, Managing Director at Connect 2 Cleanrooms, said:

“Our role is to help customers navigate the growing complexity of cleanroom management, not by over-engineering solutions, but by combining the right products, clear technical insights, reliable supply, and practical, real-world support.”

That’s why our open day focuses on hands-on workshops and demonstrations, because effective contamination control is lived daily, not just written into procedures

Demand for cleanrooms and controlled environments continues to grow across high-tech manufacturing, semiconductors, electronics, life sciences, advanced research, aerospace and precision engineering. As more organisations rely on controlled environments to protect products, processes, and people, the pressure on cleanroom users has also increased.

For Connect 2 Cleanrooms, the open day was a chance to show how cleanroom management goes beyond initial design and installation. Ongoing performance depends on the right equipment, furniture, consumables, training, and operator behaviour, all working together in a controlled and repeatable way.

Attendees also had the opportunity to tour the Connect 2 Cleanrooms facility and see how the company supports cleanroom customers through its wider lifecycle approach, from cleanroom solutions and furniture to consumables and training.

Feedback from attendees was positive, with Assured Cleaning Services Limited commenting:

“A good mix of topics covered during the workshops and the exhibition, all of which were relevant for our business. It was great to have time with the manufacturers and to be able to take away information and samples.”

We would definitely attend again and recommend to others

Connect 2 Cleanrooms said the open day is expected to be the first of many, as the company continues to create opportunities for customers and suppliers to share knowledge, discuss best practice, and make cleanroom management simpler. To be notified about future open days and events, click here.
