Dairy firm benefit from automated cleaning device

Cleaning for staff at a Swedish natural dairy manufacturing site has been made easier thanks to the introduction of a new semi-automatic pumping device.

The DMW dosing pumps, from Grundfos Alldos, do away with the manual task of calculating and adding additives into vats, performed by staff at Milko to keep up with hygiene standards.

Now, all staff have to do is specify the dose required and the pump doses the required acid and lye.

Staff now have full control over the speed, acceleration and position of the diaphragm, allowing the additive to be delivered evenly and precisely

Grundfos Alldos supplied a DME dosing solution to accurately dose the required acid and lye.

With the new DME solution, trial and error has been taken out of the process, ensuring the correct dose is applied each and every time.

Milko’s operations engineer Lars Rudh, said: “The new DME pumps in the CIP system have exceeded our expectations. They are very easy to use and you know straight away what to do to achieve the best results. In fact, we are so impressed that we are planning to use DME pumps in other parts of our system”.
