Environment control moves forward

Published: 5-Aug-2005

JS Humidifiers has launched its Micro-Environment Control System (MECS).

Able to supply air at any temperature from 15-45°C (±0.1°C) and humidity from 30-98%rH (±1%rH), the system is available with an on-board computer that displays historic and real-time output statistics and enables the user to set the desired temperature and/or humidity. MECS' ability to control the environment so stringently can reduce product wastage and increase yields of many processes. It can deliver up to 200 litres/sec of air, creating precise micro-climates for critical manufacturing or testing processes, such as pharmaceutical or medical device production, and is especially suited to gloveboxes, isolators and hoods. The system is self-contained and is fitted with wheels, enabling it to be moved around, even through single doorways. It also has a modem, facilitating off-site performance monitoring and fault diagnosis by a JS Humidifiers engineer. Humidity control is provided by a Neptronic SKE resistive steam humidifier, while water level is controlled by a patented AFEC (Anti-Foaming Energy Conservation) system.
