EU's bioterrorism guidelines arrive
Comprehensive practical guidelines for dealing with a bioterrorism attack have been released by the European Commission.
They cover the deliberate release of harmful chemicals, as well as pathogens, and include such advice as spotting if an attack has taken place, how to respond to an attack, decontaminating clothing, helpful websites and a directory of poison information centres. The guidelines are designed for the general public as well as companies. An attached note reads: "providing, for your attention before incidents occur, information of the threats posed by a deliberate chemical release and advice on general behaviour, can help you to protect yourself better during an emergency".
