Fast track project for AstraZeneca

An almost 2000m2 Clean Plus, fast track cleanroom project for AstraZeneca is currently nearing completion at the Gärtuna site near Södertälje, Sweden. The cleanroom facilities are for laboratories and the production of Nexium Intravenous (IV) and are a key part of AstraZeneca's investment of $66 million in a new plant. The capital expenditure also includes essential infrastructure to support the manufacyuring operations. With a new build project start date of October 2002 the supplier, Carmetec, says the cleanrooms will be completed in record time at the end of March 2003, approximately half the time it would normally be expected to take.
