First-birthday boost for Air Science
Air Science Technologies, a designer and manufacturer of high performance fume containment systems, has marked its first anniversary with a series of new contracts in the UK and overseas.
The company's range of filtration fume cupboards, downflow work stations and other specialist laboratory equipment has been supplied to clients operating in such fields as education, medicine and the emergency services. One of the company's most recent contracts was to supply the New South Wales Police in Australia with 39 specially designed forensic evidence drying cabinets. New products include the Purair range of ductless fume cupboards for general laboratory work, air flow benches for use in medical/pathology laboratories, Class 1 and 2 biohazard cabinets for the storage of potentially dangerous materials, and specialist mobile containment systems recently developed for emergency services personnel. A key feature of the company's fume cupboards and downflow work stations is that they all use self-contained air filtration units that do not require air extraction systems or ducting to ensure a safe working environment. Consequently, they can be installed quickly and easily, without disruption to working routines; and, because they do not have to move large amounts of air through a building, they are generally more energy efficient than conventional alternatives.
