First rapid action sporicidal cleaner for general surfaces in hospitals

Tristel Solutions has launched what is said to be the first rapid action sporicidal cleaner for general hospital surfaces and non-invasive medical devices.

Effective, convenient and easy to use, Tristel Duo is designed to provide a readily available means of rapid decontamination and is active against organisms including MRSA, Clostridium difficile, Bacillus subtilis, Mycobacterium tuberculosis, Acinetobacter baumanii and Norovirus. It has applications in diverse areas, including work surfaces, dressing trolleys, beds and mattress covers, instrument tables, monitor cases, control panels and keyboards. The company claims that Tristel Duo takes only 30 seconds to kill all the organisms with which it comes into contact. Tristel Duo is a two part system. It comprises the Duo bactericidal and virucidal wipe, which can be boosted by the application of the Tristel Duo sporicidal foam. This delivers chlorine dioxide directly to the surface as and when required. For full effectiveness, chlorine dioxide must be generated immediately before use from two chemical components; Tristel has achieved this using the Duo foamer, a novel two-compartment dispenser. Base and activator solutions are held in separate compartments of the Duo foamer and are mixed only when the pump is depressed. Two jets of foam are dispensed to the surface where they are mixed and dispersed with the Duo wipe. The recently introduced Tristel Wipe is said to be the world's first rapid action sporicidal wipe. It incorporates Tristel's patented chlorine dioxide chemistry and can kill all organisms on a pre-cleaned surface from which soil and organic matter have been removed with a contact time of only 30 seconds. The Tristel Generator and Tristel Duo are the latest addition to the company's range of products and services.
