FMA cleans up with Heinz Telford stick pack contract

Following on from the succesful completion of a contract to install a new "Cleaning in Place" and product feed solution on the stick pack lines at the Heinz sauce production facility in Telford, UK, FMA Process Engineering of Lichfield has been awarded a further contract with Heinz. There are 20 different sauces in regular production at the plant with six 1000kg process vessels on the sauce production line. Each of these requires thorough cleaning in between batches. FMA reduced the cleaning time of a typical vessel from seven hours to less than five hours. This is done with an expansion of the existing Siemens-controlled FMA CIP set and a thorough rationalisation of all the process pipework and addition of rotary spray devices.
