Follow-up order for M+W from Siltronic

Published: 6-Sep-2004

M+W Zander has received a follow-up order for expanding Siltronic's new Freiberg Fab 300-2 semiconductor factory. The order has a volume of e20.75m. The Stuttgart high-tech plant constructor and operator is taking on the role of general contractor. This means Siltronic can expand its production capacities from currently 75,000 to 150,000 wafers a month. In June 2004, Siltronic celebrated the opening of a new semiconductor factory, Fab 300-2. M+W Zander handed over the turnkey installation after 18 months. Potential expansion was designed-in right from the start to take account of a potential boom in demand for semiconductors. Siltronic is now in a position to expand its production capacities within the existing factory. Installation of process equipment will start as early as November 2004 and hook-up installation is due to be completed by March 2006.
