Two specialty surfactants developed by a US global supplier International Specialty Products (ISP), have been listed on a new online database.

Surfadone LP-100 and LP-300 are suited for industrial and institutional (I&I) cleaning products and household cleaners. Information on the chemical ingredients of the surfactants is available as well as details on the environmental and human health attributes that have been independently verified can now be found on the CleanGredients website.

ISP is located in Wayne, New Jersey, USA, and supplies specialty chemicals and performance-enhancing products for a wide variety of personal care, pharmaceutical, food, beverage and industrial applications.

A CleanGredients listing signifies that test data demonstrating the aquatic toxicity, biodegradability, and ingredient formulations for Surfadone LP-100 and LP-300 have been reviewed and verified by third party company NSF International. The verification was undertaken using the Design for the Environment (DfE) Screen for Surfactants – a set of criteria defined by the US Environmental Protection Agency’s DfE programme for designating surfactants with especially positive environmental characteristics.

ISP’s Surfadone LP specialty surfactants are linear, N-alkyl-2-pyrrolidones. They combine a hydrophilic dipolar pyrrolidone ring with a hydropholic alkyl group, which enables them to exhibit unique solvency and surface activity.
