Isotron gets funding for expansion plans

Sterilisation specialist Isotron, based in Swindon in the UK, has received financial backing from Fortis Bank for its expansion strategy in Europe, Asia and Africa. The bank will partly fund the €3.9m expansion of Isotron's Tullamore plant in Ireland, with the addition of two new EtO (ethylene oxide) processing lines at the site together with an expansion of the original warehouse. Isotron is also planning to expand plants in other geographical areas. Medical device manufacturing in Ireland has grown strongly in recent years, said Isotron chief executive John Barker. 'We are therefore delighted to expand the plant still further and to continue to invest in a growing European marketplace, where we have established long term partnerships.'
