Germany’s main cleanroom event, known simply as Lounges, was somewhat overshadowed last year by the huge triennial exhibition of Achema taking place in the same month. However, for this, its 10th anniversary show, the organisers have brought the dates forward to ensure that it will not clash again when Achema comes round in 2018.
Taking place on 5–7 April 2016 at the Messe Stuttgart, this year’s Lounges promises to bounce back. The show is aimed mainly at the German-speaking regions and includes a wide-ranging programme of presentations on current cleanroom themes uniting research, technology and operations. It also offers hands-on demonstrations, workshops and live events over all three days.
The programme involves six lecture rooms with at least four presentations scheduled for each day in each room, making a total of more than 70 presentations. The majority are in German, but a handful are presented in English.
The sessions are colour-coded to indicate some that provide advice for those with basic cleanroom knowledge, through to others presenting topical themes for experts. The sessions cover various aspects of cleanroom technology in different industrial sectors, with some sessions focusing specifically on pharmaceutical requirements. Topics include: cleanroom design and operation, clothing and consumables, hygiene and cleaning, water and ultra-pure media, materials and surfaces, pharma manufacturing, packaging and logistics, analytics and quality assurance, and guidelines and regulations.
In addition to the conference, around 190 exhibitors will have small booths in the exposition space. Networking is a key aim of the event so ample seating and sponsored food and drink make the exposition space suitable for a convivial meeting. According to the organisers, some 7,000 visitors are expected to attend this year’s event.
