Lysol and Conair clean with steam

Reckitt-Benckiser brand Lysol and Conair Corporation, manufacturer of health and beauty products, have teamed up to create two steam cleaning systems: the Lysol multipurpose steam cleaning system by Conair and Lysol steam cleaning mop by Conair.

The products combine the ease of steam cleaning with the power of Lysol brand disinfectant, the companies claim: previous steam cleaning systems used only water to clean.

“Partnering with Conair Corporation enables Reckitt Benckiser to reach consumers in a category in which we would otherwise not compete,” said Jeanne O'Connor, strategic alliance director for Reckitt Benckiser North America, makers of Lysol. “Our two companies have effectively blended our complementary strengths to create a new revenue stream and build brand equity.”

The multipurpose steam cleaning system features a spray bottle design with a removable tank for easy fill-up at the sink. While the hand-held unit can clean with steam only, consumers can boost their cleaning efficacy and disinfect their homes by adding some Lysol all-purpose cleaner. After one minute to heat up, the system provides 15 minutes of continuous cleaning time. It is packaged with three patent-pending sponge attachments and liquid dispenser, and concentrator steam nozzles for use with steam alone.

The stem cleaning mop functions in a similar fashion to the multipurpose system, and can be used with or without Lysol disinfectant.
