Microban partners with Medcare

US-based Microban International has established a strategic partnership with Medcare Products, an American manufacturer of mobile and ceiling-mounted patient lifts, standard and disposable slings, transfer aids and repositioning equipment.


As a result, Medcare's patient slings and belts will be the only ones on the market available with built-in Microban antimicrobial product protection, and will join a growing list of products used in healthcare facilities with this innovative technology.

The application of Microban protection during the manufacturing process give slings an added level of protection from microbes, such as bacteria, mold and mildew that can cause stains, odors and product deterioration, Microban says.

'In response to a strong desire for antimicrobial protection in healthcare facilities, we are extremely pleased to announce this new partnership with Medcare Products,' commented David Meyers, ceo of Microban.

'This innovative technology, combined with our existing patient transfer products, provides us with an advantage in the healthcare products market,' says Medcare's ceo Brooks Smith.
