Published: 10-Oct-2007

VDI, the Association of German Engineers, has published Guideline VDI 6022 Part 2:? Hygienic requirements for ventilation and air-conditioning systems and devices; measurement procedures and examinations in hygiene check-ups and hygiene inspections.

The new Part 2 of the guideline describes the measurements of hygienic parameters that have to be carried out in the context of hygiene checks and hygiene inspections as per VDI 6022 Part 1. This means, in particular, techniques for the microbiological sampling of air, water and surfaces as well as the determination of the dust density on surfaces.

The microbiological investigations either required or recommended by VDI 6022 Part 1, where they can be carried out by personnel having a hygiene training as per VDI 6022, are described in the new guideline in terms of the reference values, the required qualification of the personnel, the procedure for carrying out the measurements and the interpretation of the measurement results.
