New system combines particulate and chemical filtration
US-based Purafil's latest indoor air quality (IAQ) product, The Purafilter - OA (Outside Air), is a combination particulate and chemical filter.
It is designed for use in high-occupancy commercial environments, such as hospitals, office buildings and airports, in which the outdoor air quality is questionable and optimal indoor air quality is a requirement.
However, the Purafilter - OA can also be used in other facilities for general odour control from indoor or outdoor contaminant sources.
The Purafilter - OA contains Purafil's Triple-Blend Makeup Air Media to remove gases such as nitric oxide, nitrogen dioxide and sulfur dioxide, ozone, and VOCs - the main contaminants found in outside air. The Purafilter - OA is the only chemical filter capable of meeting the stringent requirements of ASHRAE's 62.1 IAQ Procedure to allow for energy savings, Purafil claims.
The Purafilter - OA has been optimised to remove vehicle exhaust, for example, and prevent contaminants from these sources from being introduced into the facility's HVAC system.
It is said to be an ideal addition to any existing HVAC system as it provides design flexibility, lower pressure drop and higher removal capacities for the specific contaminants typically found in commercial facilities.
Purafil has developed air cleaning systems that eliminate, control and provide real-time monitoring of corrosive, odorous, hazardous and toxic gases. The company maintains nearly 20,000 installations in cleanroom, commercial, industrial, preservation and water-wastewater treatment settings worldwide.
