Niagara Blower buys Kathabar
Niagara Blower Company, a provider of heat transfer applications, has acquired additional design and manufacture expertise in dehumidification and air systems treatment with the purchase of US company Kathabar.
Kathabar, which is part of Ross Air Systems and located in Somerset, New Jersey, designs systems used in the pharmaceutical, gelatin and food & beverage industries. The newly formed subsidiary will be called Kathabar Dehumidification Systems (KDS) and aims to expand Niagara’s customer base and extend the range of temperature and humidity applications available within the company.
Niagara’s customized product lines include closed-loop evaporative Wet Surface Air Coolers (WSAC) and “No-Frost” liquid desiccant dehumidification systems.
Peter Demakos, P.E., Niagara President, said: ‘Kathabar is a well known, well respected company and will increase Niagara’s potential customer base to provide a wider range of temperature and humidity applications.
Kathabar, as a compliment to our ‘No-Frost’ refrigeration systems, will make Niagara one of the largest liquid desiccant dehumidification system manufacturers in North America.
In addition, Kathabar’s extensive sales representation will expand our opportunities in international markets.’
Details of the acquisition have not been disclosed.
