Pharmadule to build modular ophthalmic products manufacturing facility

Pharmadule, a division of Pharmadule Emtunga AB, has signed a contract with Excelvision for the delivery of a modular facility for the manufacturing of ophthalmic products.


Excelvision, part of the Fareva Group in France, is a major contract manufacturer in Europe. The project is an extension of an existing plant in Hettlingen, Switzerland, acquired by Excelvision in 2004, and encompasses both new construction and upgrading of the existing facility.

Pharmadule's scope comprises design, fabrication and validation of the two-storey facility extension with a total size of approximately 720m2. Pharmadule's modular concept allows 90% of the construction to be completed in the company's workshop, resulting in a high and predictable quality and a short delivery schedule.

The facility includes areas and equipment for product preparation and filling operations, as well as HVAC and utility areas. The facility will be delivered to Excelvision's site for installation, qualification and hand over to the client by the end of 2007. The total project value amounts to €7m.
