Portable tester spot checks air quality
Fluke has introduced a portable, hand-held atmospheric particle counter that provides a useful tool for HVAC and indoor air quality (IAQ) professionals who want to monitor air quality, measure filtration efficiency, locate particulate sources, or demonstrate the need for maintenance and repair.
Designed for fast and accurate evaluations of IAQ in factories, commercial premises, medical facilities and cleanrooms, the Fluke 983 enables the maintenance of healthy and clean working environments. It simultaneously measures and displays six channels of particle size distribution, along with the air temperature and relative humidity, and is the ideal tool for tracking down particle sources or determining the concentrations of airborne particles, classifying them in size distribution steps of between 0.3µm and 10.0µm in diameter. It is also able to provide filtration unit checks and spot checks in sensitive areas, such as industrial cleanrooms and medical facilities. The eight-hour rechargeable battery and data storage of 5,000 sample records enable complete air quality surveys of an installation in one go. Sampling can be selectively based on time, number of counts, or set with a programmable delay. It records date, time, counts, relative humidity, temperature, sample volumes, alarms and a location label. Software provided enables uploading of stored data to a PC for analysis or storage. The unit comes ready to use, requiring no refilling of liquids.
