Elfab has developed a pressure-relief system for use in aseptic and hygienic process conditions that offers advanced detection and flexibility capabilities.

Hygienic Opti-Gard features a non-fragmenting, reverse-acting bursting disc with a smooth, uninterrupted surface finish to reduce contamination and maximise steam sterilisation and clean-in-place procedures. To facilitate installation, it is designed to fit directly between ISO2852 standard food industry couplings and clamp fittings. Supplied with Elfab's ATEX-approved Integral Flo-Tel burst-detection device – a non-invasive, magnetically-actuated and reusable system that ensures "fail-safe detection and minimises the risk of spurious alarms" – it has a performance tolerance of only 5% across a wide range of burst pressures, and a 95% operating ratio. Manufactured from 316 stainless steel as standard, (alternative materials are available upon request), it has a temperature range of -80°C to +480°C.
