Rentokil creates a buzz with Luminos pest control

Published: 17-Apr-2009

Rentokil’s Luminos fly killers use UV light and adhesive technology to attract flying insects and hygienically capture them. The range includes units that encapsulate flies in an adhesive film, to remove any risk of contamination from the insects, and glue board units, where the insects are trapped on an adhesive film.

Rentokil says the products offer businesses a more hygienic and pesticide-free approach to controlling flying insects than conventional devices, which simply zap the creatures and leave their fragments in the surrounding area.

The company has added two products and made further enhancements to cater for the needs of a range of businesses. The Luminos range now comprises six units, including the Luminos 4 heavy duty industrial unit, which has been modified by re-positioning the adhesive film to render it more effective. This unit makes use of encapsulation technology and is suitable for areas of high risk such as pharmaceutical and food processing businesses. The Luminos Sapphire is a stylish and discreet unit fitted with a glue board, primarily for front of house locations in low risk areas such as hotels and bars.

Luminos 1 is also fitted with a glue board that may be attached to flat surfaces and serviced without the need of tools. It is suitable for cafes and other small businesses selling food.

Luminos 3 Plus has an enhanced encapsulation cassette, with an optional glue board to increase the catch area. It provides effective flying insect control to large food retailers, restaurant kitchens and food concessions. www.rentokil.co.uk/flycontrol
