Respirator offers protection from airborne viruses
Union Springs Pharmaceuticals, the US supplier of infection control products, has introduced the ViralClyns P95 disposable respirator. The company says the product offers a virtually impenetrable barrier against airborne viruses and other opportunistic pathogens.
According to Union Springs, in lab tests the ViralClyns P95 was 100 times more effective than other respirators in its class, stopping 99.99% of airborne and droplet viruses. With patented Triosyn antimicrobial protection, the ViralClyns P95 filter is said to be able to stop and inactivate viruses, bacteria, protozoa and fungi. "This respirator is a breakthrough for public safety officials," said Union Springs Pharmaceuticals president Joel Ivers. "In a situation of exposure to harmful viruses, prevention is key. The ViralClyns respirator offers unparalleled protection and a new standard of effectiveness." The respirator is available in two designs – with or without an exhalation valve. It also features adjustable straps and a full-face foam seal for a comfortable and secure fit. Furthermore, ViralClyns' carbon filter shields against smoke and odours.
