After three years in India, Rexam has inaugurated its new Bangalore plant on 14 May. The new facility is designed around a state-of-the-art 1000m2 class 8 cleanroom and is fully compliant with cGMP standards.

The plant specialises in eye, ear and oral dropper bottles and nasal spray sets as well as child-resistant closure systems. It manufactures locally the Rispharm range of products – an ophthalmic blockbuster with complete documentation for the regulated markets – and is the first company to manufacture CRC caps in India, using its Argus-Lock technology.

Rexam Pharma is also replicating its successful development model by opening a new Technology Centre in Bangalore to support pharmaceutical companies with strong design, development and industrialisation expertise as well as regulatory support for all pharmaceutical packaging requirements.

Rexam Pharma, a division of Rexam Plastic Packaging, specialises in rigid plastic packaging, drug delivery systems and medical devices for pharmaceutical, medical and biotechnology companies. As the first multinational company in its field to have a fully owned subsidiary in India, Rexam Pharma supports local and multinational partners in their product development, offering high quality products for all routes of administration. The Bangalore plant in India joined Rexam Pharma in 2006.
