Laboratory and process equipment provider Sartorius has acquired all shares in plastic components manufacturer Toha Plast, a long-term supplier and development partner to Sartorius.

In July 2006 Sartorius purchased a small Toha Plast facility in Puerto Rico, and the new parent company expects the acquisition to be of particuar benefit to its biotechnology division. Injection-moulded and thermoplastic components are integrated into all disposables supplied by this division, in filters, disposable bioreactors and fluid bags for the pharmaceutical industry.

“Already in 2007, we are expecting this acquisition to contribute positive earnings,” said Sartorius ceo Joachim Kreuzburg.
