Shield Medicare Ltd expand South Wales facility

Shield Medicare Ltd, manufacturers of sterile contamination control products and medical devices have recently expanded their cleanroom facility at their South Wales factory to cope with increased sales of their KlercideTM range of sterile alcohols and biocides, both UK and worldwide.

The success of the Sterishield Delivery SystemTM, a patented trigger spray mechanism that preserves the integrity of the sterile product throughout its use, has lead to the expansion of their existing cleanroom facility. The new production suite includes three separate Class 10,000 clean rooms with four distinct Class 100 areas that gives complete flexibility for product manufacture.

The cleanrooms are used for aseptic liquid filling, preparation and packaging of product for terminal sterilisation, and medical device manufacture. Shield's Managing Director Richard Salvage stated " We are very pleased with the new facility, the extra capacity enables us to the meet the needs of our customers and concentrate on our commitment to bring new and innovative products to the contamination and control marketplace".
