Syringe filler and stopper

Cozzoli has combined a volumetric multi-head filler series F329 with its MVP vacuum stoppering system to provide a "simple and cost-effective" solution for syringe filling and stoppering for pre-packaged or hand loaded containers.

Available through Biopharma Process Systems, the F329/MVP is said to be ideally suited for cleanroom applications. A pre-loaded tray is placed into the F329 holding mechanism and when started, the tray automatically moves into position and the nozzles lower to fill the containers. The tray advances to fill all the rows of containers and is then removed. The operator places the filled syringes into a rigid stainless steel barrel rack, tops it with a transfer plate loaded with pre-packaged or individual stoppers and places the assembly into the MVP's vacuum chamber. The MVP regulates the vacuum, nitrogen and compressed air to remove any trapped air from the product, then purges the chamber and transfers the stoppers into the syringes. It can be supplied with 6,8 or 10 filling heads to handle varying matrix patterns and can operate at up to 20 cycles/min with a filling accuracy of ± 0.5%. The vacuum chamber and all container handling components are completely autoclavable and the entire chamber can also be steam sterilised.
