Thermo Electron acquires Rupprecht and Patashnick
Thermo Electron Corporation has purchased Rupprecht and Patashnick (R&P), a leader in continuous particulate monitoring instrumentation for the ambient air, emissions monitoring and industrial hygiene markets. The company had 2004 revenues of $17m.
Marijn Dekkers, president and ceo of Thermo Electron, said: "R&P is well positioned to address future particulate monitoring regulations that will impact the emissions and ambient air monitoring markets, both of which are core to Thermo Electron. "Thermo's product offering is an excellent complement to our existing portfolio of gas analysers and particulate monitoring instruments. "Our range will significantly enhance Thermo's global position in these markets by creating a supplier with a strong portfolio of instrumentation and service capabilities."
