Tool-less changeover reduces downtime

Doyen Medipharm, has had patents granted on its Tool-less Changeover MT2500 Thermoform packaging machine. This machine is aimed at the automated packaging of medical devices such as syringes, catheters, gowns and tubing sets. According to Doyen, it is the first thermoform packaging machine in the industry to allow for production of different pack sizes without having to change over the seal tooling. The patented design is beneficial to companies with multiple products that would previously have needed to purchase extra tooling sets to accommodate each product. It also advantageous for multiple packs, where products are combined into one pack but segregated within the pack. Selecting a pre-programmed setting on the touch screen can change over the machine to a new product or multiple pack, reducing downtime associated with product changeover from hours to minutes.
