Triple-seal bag system debuts at Interphex
A new system designed to ensure dust containment during filter replacement operations in chemical and pharmaceutical applications is being showcased at Interphex.
The Triple-Sealed BIBO developed by air and liquid filtration systems provider Donalson Torit is an in/bag-out (BIBO) system for Downflo dust collectors.
The system mounts on the outside of the Downflo dust collector, so the clean-change bag is stored on the clean air side and is not exposed to the dirty air plenum. This results in a more reliable system that minimizes worker exposure to potent compounds.
Donaldson Torit Triple-Sealed BIBO bags are made of Armorflex bag material that is designed withstand tough handling operations. To avoid cuts, tears, or holes in the bags, the Triple-Sealed BIBO design does not expose the bags to the inside of the dirty air plenum, where abrasion is likely.
To further increase reliability of operation, the Donaldson Torit Triple-Sealed BIBO procedure cycles only one filter at a time and requires only one person to execute efficiently.
‘Our Torit-Built filters are designed dimensionally for easier handling when dirty,’ said Paul Kojetin, director of engineering.
Donaldson Torit provides a DVD to illustrate the Triple-Sealed BIBO process from beginning to end helping operators establish a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for dust collector Bag-In/Bag-Out operation.
The product will be exhibited at booth 1628 at the Interphex Pharmaceutical Conference in Philadelphia until 28 March.
