UK-based lighting supplier Whitecroft bought by Swedish group Fagerhult

Whitecroft Lighting, an independent supplier of lighting to the industrial, healthcare, retail and education sectors, which is based in Ashton-under-Lyne, UK, has been acquired by the Swedish company Fagerhult AB.

The Fagerhult group is one of Europe's leading lighting supply companies with an annual €170m turnover and employs 1,200 people. Whitecroft employs 280 people in the UK and will operate as an independent business within the Fagerhult Group and will retain its current management team. "As a member of the Fagerhult Group this allows us to invest and strengthen our market position," said Paul Barton, Whitecroft's md. He added: "Fagerhult is one of Europe's leading lighting companies and this is a tremendous fit for Whitecroft in every respect. We will continue to build on our brand and market position in the commercial, health care, education and retail sectors."
