Doubles capacity for system integration and refurbishment for semiconductor process modules

Ultra Clean Holdings, a US developer and supplier of critical subsystems for the semiconductor, flat panel, medical, energy and research industries, has opened its Singapore manufacturing operations.

Ultra Clean acquired the 35,000ft2 facility in October 2009 and has since completed a major investment programme to expand the manufacturing capacity and capability. The firm has doubled the capacity for existing activities in systems integration and refurbishment for semiconductor process modules. A 7,000ft2 cleanroom for the manufacture of gas and liquid chemical delivery systems and the assembly of complex sub-systems for customers across all of Ultra Clean's key markets has also been built.

“Ensuring that we have operations in the right locations to meet the needs of our customers is core to our growth strategy,” said Clarence Granger, chief executive of Ultra Clean. “For us, this means continuing to expand in Asia. The leading position of Singapore as a base for technology companies means that many of our key customers already have a significant presence here, or have indicated their intent to be in here in future. Through our Singapore facility, we can now offer the manufacturing services and refurbishment capabilities they are looking for.”

Ultra Clean is headquartered in Hayward, California, US.
