AMEC extends facilities management contract at Lilly

AMEC, the international project management and facilities services company, has won a £24 million, three-year extension to its current Facilities Management contract with Lilly, one of the world's largest pharmaceutical companies. The contract continues AMEC's five-year relationship with Lilly for facility services in the South of England. AMEC has delivered major drug discovery, primary and secondary facilities for most of the world's top pharmaceutical giants over the past two decades. Under the incentivised, performance based contract, AMEC will provide a comprehensive range of services at Lilly's Head Office, Data Centre and Dry Products Manufacturing and Packaging site in Basingstoke and at a 20-hectare Research & Development facility in Surrey. Working closely with Lilly's facilities service team, AMEC will provide planned and reactive support services to 2000 scientific and operational staff, 24 hours a day. AMEC will carry out engineering support, building maintenance, grounds maintenance, catering and security. They will also carry out specialist cleaning of pharmaceutical facilities to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards.
