CleanClosure cuts out contamination in liquid fillings

US-based Fogg Filler Company, which claims to be a market leader in the design and manufacture of liquid filling systems, is offering CleanClosure, a new line of cleanroom enclosures designed specifically for the liquid filling market.

To be used with new or retrofit filling systems, CleanClosures provide a Class 100 environment for container filling and closure. The closures are said to virtually eliminate outside contamination by means of a HEPA air handling system, ultraviolet lamps and optional clean-in-place (CIP) plumbing, while allowing optimum pass-through for maximum efficiency in extended shelf life and related liquid filling requirements. The CleanClosures are engineered from stainless steel and premium Plexiglas to isolate the rinsing, filling and sealing/ capping process from the surrounding environment. Specially engineered HEPA laminar airflow systems provide positive pressure of sterile air down through the enclosure before being exhausted out. The positive pressure and infeed air curtain prevents outside air from entering, yet operators can access areas of the filling system. Custom designed to meet specific requirements, the closures provide application-specific particulate filtration and HEPA air change cycles. They are integrated with filling system sterilisation, CIP and computer controls. "Fogg filling systems are used throughout the world in ESL applications," said Chip Mazurek, Fogg Filler President. "We believe that offering our own line of cleanroom enclosures is a natural extension of the Fogg commitment to providing our customers with a single source for safety and sanitation across all requirements of liquid filling."
