Latest Bosch isolator has in-built glove tester
Isolator technology is a cost-effective way of ensuring sensitive processing areas are protected from the immediate surroundings through encapsulation and over-pressure. But most isolators have glove ports that need continuous monitoring to check their impermeability. At Achema, Bosch unveiled an isolator system with its own integrated glove tester.
Glove FT can be equipped with any number of parallel operating measuring points and allows a reproducible leak check of the overall intervention sleeve, cuff and glove system.
Restricted Access Barrier Systems (RABS), meanwhile, can provide manufacturers with greater flexibility in existing cleanrooms, while also improving product quality. With this trend in mind, barrier systems have become a fundamental element of Bosch’s latest systems for filling pre-sterilised nested syringes. The Advance-BEAM system for the external sterilisation of the tubs, for example, is integrated in the bio-decontamination cycle of the filling system isolator and is supplied with conditioned air during production.
The company says that because it manufactures the filling machine and the isolator, both components work in perfect harmony, giving improved performance.
